Privacy notice
Version 2026-11-draft1
Who is responsible
Domagoj Mikac, Lojenov prilaz 8, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia. Contact: info@marinascope.com.
What we collect when you share your berth price
- Your answers: marina, berth type, contract year, boat type, length, beam and weight, the price you pay and what it includes, your discount, ratings, waiting list and an optional comment.
- Your email address, only to send you your discount code and, if you tick the boxes, one email when reports launch and/or information about Berth Watch.
- The month your berth contract renews (optional), used for price statistics and, if you ask for Berth Watch, to time its email.
- Technical data: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, changed daily, used only to stop spam. We do not store your IP address itself.
We never ask for your name, your boat's name or its registration.
When you order a berth report
- Your boat details (type, length, beam, optional weight) and the area you chose, to build your report.
- Your email address, to send you the private link to your report. No newsletter.
- Payment is handled by our reseller Paddle.com (merchant of record), who collects your payment and billing details under its own privacy notice; we receive only the confirmation that you paid, the amount and a transaction number - never your card details.
- Your report is stored on our server behind a private link for 12 months, then deleted together with your email address; the order record (date, amount, transaction number) is kept as long as accounting law requires.
Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and legal obligations for accounting (Art. 6(1)(c)).
When you vote on what the report should include
We store the options you ticked, your optional text and, only if you enter it and tick the box, your email address so we can tell you when the feature is added. Without an email your vote is anonymous. We use the votes only to decide what to build next. The email is deleted once we have told you, and at most after 24 months.
Why we use it (purposes and legal basis)
- To produce anonymous statistics about berth prices and marina quality, published in our reports only as averages and only when at least 3 owners reported for the same marina. Comments are never published word for word; we only summarise common themes.
- To send you your discount code, and the launch email if you asked for it.
- To detect spam and implausible entries (for example a price far outside the marina's published range).
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by emailing info@marinascope.com. This does not affect processing before the withdrawal.
Where your data is stored
- Our database runs on a server rented from OVHcloud in Canada (Beauharnois, Québec). The European Commission has decided that Canada provides an adequate level of data protection for commercial organisations (adequacy decision under Art. 45 GDPR).
- Encrypted backups are stored with Cloudflare R2 (Cloudflare, Inc.), in a storage location chosen by Cloudflare.
- This website is delivered by Cloudflare (content delivery network).
- Emails (your report link, your discount code) are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France).
- Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (United Kingdom), our merchant of record.
How long we keep it
- Your email address: until your discount code has been used or expired, and at most 24 months. Then it is deleted.
- Your answers: kept for the price statistics. Once your email is deleted, they can no longer be linked to you.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Write to info@marinascope.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr) or the authority in your own country.
